An American playwright, producer, and director, born June 12, 1882 in New York City. He wrote a number of plays, some of which were adapted for the screen such as the films Seven Chances (1925), Fighting Odds (1917) and The Bachelor (1999). He passed away on February 27, 1927, at the age of 45 in his hometown.
