An American actress born on December 4, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York. She began her career in 1984 in The Toxic Avenger, before landing a role in the series As the World Turns in the same year. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for My Cousin Vinny (1992). Among her notable credits are What Women Want (2000), The Wrestler (2008), in addition to playing May Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.


Marisa Tomei comes from an Italian origin but was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1964 to mother "Patricia", an English teacher, and father "Gary", a lawyer. She has one brother, actor "Adam Tomei". Marisa graduated from Edward R. Murrow High School in 1982 and was one year into her college education at Boston University when she dropped out for a co-starring role on the CBS daytime drama 'As the World Turns'. In 1992, she won Best Supporting Actress Oscar and she is best known for her role in 'What Women Want' in 2000.
