John Michael Frankenheimer was an American director and producer born on 19 February 1930 in Queens, New York City. His directorial debut was an episode on the series You Are There (1954). His most notable works include The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Seven Days in May (1964), and The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996). He won 4 Emmy awards throughout his career. He died on 6 July 2002 in Los Angeles, California.
