He is an American writer and producer, born in 1962 in Bellevue, Washington. He's best known for his collaboration with director and writer, Alexander Payne in films such as Election (1999), About Schmidt (2002), and Sideways (2004) for which he won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
