A Lebanese writer, director, and actress, born in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. She left Lebanon during the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War in 1987 and studied literature in France. She also studied journalism. She worked in journalism for five years, during which she was a political correspondent with the French newspaper Libération. She then turned to cinema in 1997 when she made her first short film, Raddem, after which she presented a large number of works, both documentary and narrative films. Her credits include Beirut Hotel (2011), Seule avec la guerre (2001), and In the Battlefields (2004).
