An American director, producer, and writer, who was born on July 13, 1963 in New York. She started her career directing documentaries like VH1 Legends in 1997. She's known for The Nanny Diaries, Things Heard & Seen, and American Splendor for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2004.
