An American actor born on March 17, 1964 in Charlotteville, Virginia, USA. His family moved to Ohio as a child. His talent began to surface when he was a teenager and acting in the band, Brat Pack with a group of actors and actresses, such as Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, and Judd Nelson. He had a setback due to an ethical scandal, but he claimed his fame back in 1990. His most important works are St. Elmo's Fire (1985), The Outsiders (1983), Wayne's World (1992), and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999). He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award as Best Actor for The series The West Wing and for an Emmy Award as Best Actor in 2001 for the same role. He married Sheryl Berkoff, and they had two children, one of whom was actor John Owen Lowe.
