Hassan El Hassani was an Algerian actor, born as Hassan Bencheikh in Ksar Boukhari in 1916. He worked many jobs including a barber. His teachers encouraged him to work in theater, so he presented his first play, “ Hassan's Dream” which mocked the colonizer, and made him go to prison. He wrote and directed many sketches about Algerian history. He lived in Algeria and didn't give up his barber job. Hassan worked in different fields such as TV, theatre and cinema, where he excelled as a comedian. He passed away on September 25, 1987.
