Jared Francis Harris was born on August 24th, 1961 in London, England. He comes from a family of artists, his father is the famous Irish actor Richard Harris, his mother is actress Elizabeth Rees-Williams, and his brothers are director Damian Harris and actor Jamie...Read more Harris. Harris spent most of his childhood at boarding schools in London. Despite his artistic pedigree, he only showed interest in art when he enrolled at Duke University in North Carolina, where he studied drama and literature. Upon his graduation, he returned to England where he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, getting roles in Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet, among other major plays. In 1990, while on vacation in New York, Harris was chosen to play Hotspur in "Henry IV, Part 1". In 1996, he shared the stage with legendary actor, Andy Warhol, before he went on to take part in many well-known movies. Harris married Emilia Fox in 2005, but the marriage ended in divorce in 2010.
