An American director and actor, born in Michigan in 1950. He began his career on stage, as he was a main actor in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, and then played small roles in films such as Coming to America, and Mystery Train. His other notable work includes Romeo + Juliet, Falling Down, and Broken Arrow.
