An Egyptian writer and journalist, born on April 1, 1942. She obtained a BA of English Language and Literature from Alexandria University in 1962, then obtained a BA of Arts in Arabic language and literature from Cairo University in 1979. After graduation, she worked as a public relations employee at Philips and also as an interpreter, after which she traveled to Kuwait to work as an English teacher. She was a senior broadcaster for the English-language radio station in 1979. She worked as an editor in the magazine Sabah Al-Khair. In July 1993, she was chosen as the editor-in-chief of the women's magazine Hawaa. She wrote a number of stories and novels, which have been adapted into television dramas, including Marriage on Sullivan Paper (1998). She gave many lectures at universities in the United States, Canada, Europe, and China and participated in many conferences in Egypt, Europe and the Arab world.
