Amy Winehouse was an English singer and actress, born in 1983 in Enfield, London. She attended a Jewish Sunday school as a child. Her family shared her love for music, and she was encouraged to take up jazz at a young age. She started her singing career at the age of sixteen. Throughout most of her life, she battled substance abuse. She studied at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. In 2015, the highly acclaimed documentary film about Winehouse's life was released, and it went on to win many awards. Amy passed away in 2011 in London.
