An American director, born on April 6, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his career in 1970. His most notable films include Good Morning, Vietnam, Bugsy, Wag the Dog, and The Bay. He won a Best Director Academy Award for the film Rain Man (1988). He also has a television production company with Tom Fontana (The Levinson/Fontana Company). Barry Levinson also worked as an executive producer on some series, such as Homicide: Life on the Street.
