A Scottish-British actor, director, and writer, born on November 2, 1959 in Peterhead, Scotland, United Kingdom. He began his artistic career with directing and directed many short works, which were rejected from the National Film School, so he decided to turn to acting and worked in theater, cinema, and television. His works include The Magdalene Sisters, Children of Men, Tyrannosaur, and War Horse.
