His artistic career began in the late sixties when he made his debut on the cinema screen with the dramatic movie Last...Read more Summer in 1969. Among his most important works are: X-Men in 2000, Short Cuts in 1993, The Crucible in 1996, and X2: X-Men United in 2003. He was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actor, and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance, and he won the Golden Globe Award once in 1994 for the movie Short Cuts.
