A Lebanese actor and singer, born to musician Hassan Ghandour, who composed songs for artists such as Souad Mohamed, Nagah Sallam, and Wedad. From an early age, he learned the basics of singing from his father and was trained to perform correctly and memorize classical songs....Read more Then he joined the National Music Institute in Beirut, where he learned to play the oud and violin. He also studied under Selim Sahab. In the late 1980s, Essa released his first album entitled "Shajar Al Yasmine", followed by the release of his single "Al Oyoun Al Soud", an adaptation of a Western song, both of which gained much success. He stopped singing for a long period, during which he did some acting work in Egyptian series. Then he returned to release a third album in 2009 titled "Darwish", in which he revived famous songs by the late Sayed Darwish. His credits include Mother of the Bride (1998) and Every Day a Tale (1989).
