Peter Stormare, born Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm in 1953, is a Swedish-American film, stage, voice and television actor, as well as a theatrical director, playwright and musician. He first began acting with the Royal National Theatre of Sweden, where he stayed for eleven years. He...Read more became the Associate Artistic Director at the Tokyo Globe Theatre in 1990 and directed productions there including "Hamlet" among other Shakespeare plays. He moved to New York City in 1993, and began performing in English-language productions. He got his breakout role playing a kidnapper alongside Steve Buscemi in "Fargo" (1996). Stormare is known not just for his statuesque frame, but for his ability to play characters of varying nationalities. He played an American in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" (1997); a German in "The Big Lebowski" (1998); a Russian in "Armageddon" (1998); a Frenchman in "Chocolat" (2000); and an Italian in "The Brother's Grimm" (2005). Stormare is the godfather of Gustaf Skarsgård, the son of highly acclaimed Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård and the brother of "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgård.
