Rian Johnson is an American writer and director who was born on December 17, 1973, in Maryland, but grew up in San Clemente, California. He attended San Clemente High School, then joined the University of Southern California and graduated from the USC College of Motion Picture Arts in 1996. He is best known for Brick (2005), The Brothers Bloom (2008), Looper (2012) and Star Wars (2017). He also directed three episodes of Breaking Bad.
