Jane Lynch, born in 1960 in Illinois, is an American actress, singer and comedian now best known for her impeccable portrayal of Sue Sylvester, the scheming cheerleading coach on hit show "Glee" (2009-2013). Lynch has won a Primetime Emmy, a Golden Globe, a SAG Award, TCA Award, Satellite Award and a People's Choice Award for her performance on "Glee." Lynch spent fifteen years in Chicago, acting in the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, then the comedy troupe "The Second City," whose impressive list of alumni includes Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Steve Carell and Mike Myers. Lynch first got serious attention for her performance in Christopher Guest's mockumentary "Best In Show" (2000). Her film credits include "A Mighty Wind" (2003), "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" (2005), "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" (2006), "Role Models" (2008), "The Three Stooges" (2012), and "Wreck-It Ralph" (2012). Lynch is an openly out lesbian, and is married to a clinical psychologist Lara Embry, Ph.D., who has two daughters.
