McCarthy got her breakout role and became a household name for playing Sookie St. James on the quirky beloved series "The Gilmore Girls" (2000-2007). Next, she played Molly Flynn-Biggs on CBS's popular "Mike & Molly" (2007-2009), for which she won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress. She turned in a star-making performance in the 2011 hit comedy "Bridesmaids" as the hypermasculine and straight-talking sister-in-law Megan. The role skyrocketed her career to a new level, and earned her nominations for an Oscar, a Screen Actors Guild award, and a BAFTA for best supporting actress. She won the Boston Society of Film Critics Award for best supporting actress, as well as the MTV award for best comedic performance. Recently, she starred in "Identity Thief" (2013) with Jason Bateman, and Judd Apatow comedy "This Is 40" (2012).
