Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a Danish actor, producer and screenwriter. He was born in 1970. He was brought to fame in his native country with his role in the successful action film “Nightwatch” (1994). He began his career in the U.S in 2001 by appearing in Ridley Scott's “Black...Read more Hawk Down.” He then appeared in “Enigma” (2001), “Wimbledon” (2004), was brought back by Ridley Scott on his “Kingdom of heaven” (2005), appeared as one of Paul Bettany's henchmen in “Firewall” (2006), and was cast as the lead in the Fox TV drama series “New Amsterdam” (2008). In April 2011, Waldau started appearing in the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones,” playing the arrogant, amoral, and impulsive character of Jaime Lannister, of which he said “What's not to like about Jaime? As an actor I couldn't ask for a better role”. His other film work includes the horror film “Mama” (2013) and the sci-fi thriller “Oblivion” (2014).
