An Australian writer, born in Maitland, Australia. He trained at the University of Sydney (B.A. 1972) and at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. His works include Blackrock (1997), Lorenzo's Oil (1992) and Come in Spinner (1990). He died of cancer on March 30, 2003, in Sydney, Australia.
