Indonesian actor, Iko Uwais (born Uwais Qorny) is known for his work as a martial artist, stuntman and fight choreographer. He has played the leading role in several action films including “Merantau,” “Raid: The Redemption,” and “Raid 2: Berandal.” Uwais became an actor after meeting director Gareth Welsh, who was in Jakarta doing a documentary about traditional Indonesian martial arts, called silat, and visited Uwais’ training facility.
