She is a Canadian actress, and her real name is Jacoba Francisca Maria Smulders. She was born on April 3, 1982 to a Danish father and an English mother. She was a model before turning to acting. Her acting debut was in the series Jeremiah (2002). She is well-known for starring in How I Met Your Mother and The Avengers.
