A British actor, director, author and producer of Trinidadian descent. He was born on October 9, 1969 in London. He is a trained a visual artist. He attended Chelsea School of Art. He won Best Picture at the 2014 Oscars for 12 Years a Slave. Among his works are: Hunger, Shame and Widows.
