American director, writer and producer, born on July 18, 1979 in Glendale, Arizona, USA. He debuted with the 2003 short film Peluca. He was nominated for Best Feature Film for Gentlemen Broncos (2009) at the Berlin International Film Festival. He is known for Napoleon Dynamite (2004), Masterminds (2016), and Nacho Libre (2006). He's married to Jerusha Hess.
