A French author, actor and director, born on October 9, 1907 in Yvelines, France. He came from a noble Russian family, as his grandfather, Count Dmitriy, was a general in the Russian army, and worked as a military attaché at the Russian Embassy in Paris. Among his most notable works are: Monsieur Hulot's Holiday, Mon Oncle, Playtime and Jour de Fête. He died on November 4, 1982 in Paris, France.
