Egyptian singer who has a bachelor's degree in literature and has also studied in the Cairo Conservatory. She worked as a teaching assistant in the High Institute of Arab Music, specializing in clarinet. She co-founded the band 'The Egyptians' with composer Hani Shenouda in the 1970s, and they made several popular songs together. She quit singing in the mid-80s but Shenouda convinced her to make a comeback in 2009, which she did in a concert in Bibliotheca Alexandrina and was met with an avid welcome from her fans.
