An American actor born on 11 January 1908 in the Bronx, New York. He won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor on a Television Series in 1983 for Hart to Hart (1979-1984). His most notable works are A Star Is Born (1937) and Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936). Stander was blacklisted from the late 1940s after being exposed as a Communist Party member. He passed away due to lung cancer on 30 November 1994.
