American actor, born in Traverse City, Michigan, United States. He studied drama and broke into the field of acting, where he initially participated in several works, most notably the movie Saving Private Ryan (1998). He participated in many works after that, including Rescue Dawn, It's Kind of a Funny Story. He is best known for his role as Daniel Widmore in the series Lost. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Series for Justified in 2012.
