A Japanese actress, writer, director, and singer, born on April 8, 1951 in Setagaya, Tokyo. She started studying ballet at a young age and studied at the British Royal Academy of Dance for 3 years. Her prominent work include The Yellow Handkerchief, No More Easy Life, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Faces of a Fig Tree.
