Frank Capra was an American film director born in Sicily in 1897. He was one of the most famous American directors in the thirties and forties. He won three Oscars for Best Director. His most notable films include It Happened One Night (1934), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), and It's a Wonderful Life (1946).
