Joachim Rønning is a Norwegian director, writer and producer, who was born on May 30, 1972 in Sandefjord, Norway. Later that year Rønning served his mandatory time in the military making propaganda films for the royal Norwegian Army. In 1995 he began directing commercials and music videos with his childhood friend, Espen Sandberg and they ended up working for many international brands such as Airbus, Nintendo, Coca Cola, GE and Nokia. Rønning gained his popularity after his work on 'Kon Tiki' in 2012, 'Max Manus: Man of War' in 2008, 'Bandidas' in 2006 and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tale' in 2017.
