American writer, director, and producer born on 14 May 1944 in Modesto, California, US. He went to Thomas Downey High School. He is most famous for creating the Star Wars and Indiana Jones film franchises, starting with Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), followed by its several sequels and prequels over the years, as well as the Indiana Jones film Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), which he co-created with director Steven Spielberg. He also founded the companies Lucasfilm, LucasArts, and Industrial Light & Magic.
