American author and screenwriter, born in Texas, United States. Some of his most famous novels include those that were adapted from the movie The Last Picture Show (1971), and his 1985 novel Lonesome Dove won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature before being transformed into a work of art through an Emmy Award-winning television series. Larry He also shared the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the film Brokeback Mountain (2005), based on the short story of the same name by E. Annie Proulx.
