She is a Brazilian actress, who also holds American citizenship. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, then her family moved to reside in New York State in the United States. She completed her education there, then joined a school to teach music and theatrical arts, and began her artistic career at the Juilliard Theater. Her first cinematic work was participating in a comedic role in the movie Perfume (2001). She gained fame through her participation in the series Firefly (2002-2003), after which her artistic works continued.
