An Egyptian novelist and screenwriter who became a member of the Egyptian Writers Union. He worked as General Manager of the Misr Import and Export Company, and President of the Story Club. He began his career in literature with his first collection of short stories, published in 1970, entitled "A Statue on Columns of Air". Among his notable novels are "A Distance Between the Face and the Mask" and "The Gray Age", in addition to two short story collections, "Circulating Around the Fence" and "Fragility of Minds". He's known for The Invasion of Rabbits (1992).
