She spent her youth with the civil rights movement in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. She graduated from Hampton...Read more University in the Department of Theater and is the founder of one of the oldest theater companies in Atlanta. Additionally, she runs art projects for kids with financial difficulties and has written several plays. She is known for Queen Sugar (2022) and American Soul (2019).
