An American actor and director, born in Middletown, Connecticut, United States. He is the older brother of actor David Naughton. James graduated from Conard High School and began his career by singing during his school years at Conard with the school band. He then graduated from Brown University and then attended Yale School of Drama before he turned to acting by appearing on Broadway in New York. He is known for Cat's Eye (1985) and The First Wives Club (1996).
