A South African actor, writer and academic, born in Johannesburg. He began acting at the Brook Theatre. He's held professorships at Princeton University and Starlab, and joined the Royal Shakespeare Academy in 1978. His credits include Hotet (2004), King David (1985) and Vanity Fair (1987).
