American actor, director, and writer who was born on September 5, 1882 in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. He began his career in theater, after which he appeared in numerous silent films. He was known for City Lights (1931), The Catch of the Season (1914) and The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe (1922). He died on December 25, 1938 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
