He worked as a teacher in Jeddah at teacher training institutes in the period from 1390 AH to 1400 AH. Diab worked for a long time in the journalistic field, where he headed the local news department in Al-Madina newspaper, among other positions. Diab also authored many fictional, historical, and social works, including the short story collection "Saat Al Haet Tadoq Marratain" (The Wall Clock Rings Twice) (1404 AH). He died on April 8, 2011, in London after a battle with cancer.
