Chloë Grace Moretz is an American film and television actress. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 10, 1997. She moved to New York from Georgia in 2002 with her mother and older brother Trevor, now her acting coach, after being accepted into the Professional Performing Arts School. After getting a small part on the TV show “The Guardian” for two episodes, Moretz was cast in “Heart of the Beholder” then “The Amityville Horror” (2005), for which she was nominated for a Young Artist. Afterwards, she got a slew of guest roles on TV shows, including “Dirty Sexy Money,” and “Desperate Housewives,” and appeared alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Selma Blair in the well-received film “The Poker House.” In 2010, she starred as Hit-Girl in the popular comic live-action film “Kick-Ass,” which earned her rave reviews. She then appeared in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated “Hugo” (2011), “Hick” (2011), and Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows” (2012) alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. “Kick-Ass 2” came out in 2012, and despite mixed reviews, Moretz’s performance was lauded by critics. In 2013, she appears in the remake/second adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic “Carrie,” playing the eponymous girl who takes revenge on her schoolmates for their longtime bullying, her town, and her deeply religious and cruel mother, played by Julianne Moore. Moretz won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Movie Star Under 25 in 2012, a second Young Artist Award for “Hugo,” and was awarded the “Next Future Icon Award” by Elle Magazine in 2013.
