• Iraqi singer of Armenian origin, whose full name is Sita Wagershak Bedros Hagopian. He was born in Basra, Geneina district in Southern Iraq on July 28, 1950. She started her...Read more singing career in 1968 and became known as Fayrouz of Iraq. She grew up in a home of a sportsmen and musician. Her father is Arshak Badros, a tennis player who represented Iraq in several tournaments in the fifties and sixties. Her uncle is athlete Jamil Boutros. She started singing since the age of four and participated in many school activities. She is one of the most famous singers in the seventies because of her angelic voice. She renewed the Iraqi song by incorporating Western instruments into her songs. She pioneered contemporary singing and pop music in Iraq. She acted in Honeymoon in Rumaila (1973).
