Since her debut in the 1993 film Baazigar, she has appeared in nearly 40 Hindi films. She also won many awards and accolades for her role as an AIDS patient in Phir Milenge in 2004. She was the winner of the British reality television series Celebrity Big Brother 5 in 2007. Some of her other works include Apne, Dhadkan, and Life in a Metro.
