He was an American actor, born Maxwell Emmett Buttram on June 19, 1915 in Addison, Alabama. His career spanned for over than 50 years from 1944 till 1995. He's known for voicing many characters in Disney animated features such as Robin Hood (1973), and The Fox and the Hound (1981). His other roles include the TV series The Gene Autry Show (1950), and Green Acres (1965). He died January 8, 1994 in Los Angeles.
