Jennifer Anne Ehle is an American stage and screen actress. She was born in 1969 in North Carolina. She is best known for her performance of Elizabeth Bennet in the BBC 1995 television adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", for which she won a BAFTA award. She was the earliest casting choice for the character of Catelyn Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones, but drew back from the project in order to spend time with her new born daughter. Her films include Paradise Road, Contagion, and RoboCop. She appeared as Anastasia Steele's mother in the 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey. She has also appeared in Spooks: The Greater Good.
