He graduated from the University of Minnesota after studying drama, and spent two years in the US Air Force. His acting credits include Stalag 17...Read more (1953), Airplane! (1980), Mission: Impossible (1967-1973) and The Night of the Hunter (1955). He won an Emmy for Judy Garland: Beyond the Rainbow (1977). He died on March 14, 2010 in California.
