Piazza loved playing ice hockey since his childhood and wanted to become a professional player, but he suffered a severe shoulder injury which made him retire from the sport. Piazza spent his spare time at school watching...Read more school plays, which prompted him to join the acting team. He began his career in 2005, making his debut in the short film Color of a Doubt: An Urban Fable. He also participated in the series Law & Order in 2006, and in 2010, Piazza co-starred in the series Boardwalk Empire.
