He also started practicing boxing and shooting. Ray won several trophies, including the Bisley Match with his team. Suddenly, after 4 years, he lost all the financial support that was available to him, so he decided to work in acting and provide some small roles in his spare time to cover his expenses. With time, Ray loved acting. Among his most notable films are The Lost Weekend (1945), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Dial M for Murder (1954), and Love Story (1970). He died on March 10, 1986.
